Sony- Not happy with PSP sales
May 19th
We’ll all happily admit that, as great as it is, the PSP is losing the hype that it used to boast to the new consoles such as the PS3 and xBox 360. Now on its 4th model, many will agree that this portable console has had its time at the top.
Speaking a few days ago, Bill Glaser of Sony commented on the sales of the PSP:
”PSP was a little bit of a disappointment to us last year.”
“[...] We’re always looking into future platforms as well. Very premature to talk about future platforms, but R&D (Research+Devlopemtn) is continuing”.
Maybe we will see a fifth transformation of the PSP to come over the course of the next year or so, as Sony try and keep the console that this site is dedicated to alive.

- Find the MP4 video file that you want to put on the PSP, and copy it to the clipboard.
- Open up your PSP’s memory stick file, and in the root of your memory stick (the top), make a folder named VIDEO if there isn’t already one there.
- Next, open up that VIDEO folder and paste in your video file. Simple.

How To Get The PSP Go For Free
Dec 10th

As you know, the PSP Go recently was released to store shelves. The problem is that it has quite a hefty price tag (£210/$300). Well, I would just like to share with you how to get a PSP Go for free, and using something that seriously works. There’s no spam in this, and it’s actually what I’ve been using in the past year to get consoles for free. And what’s more, this freebie site has shipped out over £500,000 worth of freebies in under 3 years. That’s quite something.
Anyway, how this works is that you complete a simple free offer, such as the LoveFilm offer. Then, the company that you trialled will pay £17 to the freebie site for referring a new customer that may go on to use that service more, meaning that the company recouperates their money. To get this free gift, all you need to do is to refer friends to sign up and complete an offer. Then, every friend you refer is worth £17 to you, as you referred them. And for the freebie company to profit, they just take a tiny royalty on every person that completes an offer. Simple, easy, and spam-free!
This site will get your free PSP Go. If you’re uncertain, go to this site and see the £300,000 of items that thousands of forum members have received!

How To Put A Custom Coldboot Onto Your PSP
Nov 28th
So, before you ask, the coldboot is the text that comes up when you start your PSP which says “Sony Computer Entertainment”. This guide will teach you to change it to whatever you want!
What You Need
A PSP On Custom Firmware below 4.01M33
MS Paint
What You Do
Boot your PSP into recovery mode (hold down R while turning on), select ‘Advanced’ and toggle Flash0 USB to ‘on’.
Next use your PSP USB cable and connect it to your computer. A device should be detected. Navigate into the device and follow the
path VSH/Resource. In the Resource folder locate “opening_plugin.rco” and copy to it somewhere handy on your PC, such as
your desktop. Do not delete the .rco from your PSP’s flash! It may cause a brick!
Next, use the .bmp. It says “freepspblog.com” on it, and that is the text it will show on your PSP on startup. If you want your
own personalised one, just right click on the image and select “open with Paint”. Then, you can press CTRL+A then Delete, and
turn the colour on to black and fill that small box. Do not change the size. It must be that size. Then turn the colour on to white
and draw/type what you want in white. When you are done make sure you are saving it as a 24-bit bitmap.
Once you are satisfied with the picture, open up the RCO Editor application. Click ‘Open RCO’, then navigate to your
opening_plugin.rco extracted from the PSP flash memory. You should get lots of weird names beginning with codes like [MIG],
[VAG], and [OMG]. Don’t get confused by them; they are pretty irrelevent for now. Click on ‘[MIG] tex_logo’, and select the
‘Replace’ button on the right. Navigate to the .bmp. Then just leave it for a few seconds, and the editor should modify the .rco.
Then just connect your PSP back in flash0, and put it in the VSH/Resource folder, replacing the opening_plugin.rco. Make sure
you always have a backup of all of the files you modify.
If all goes well, you should start up your PSP and there is your custom coldboot.
And here’s my YouTube guide on how to change the PSP’s coldboot.
